Recital 2010 Information Package
Recital at Touch of Class is the culmination of many hours of hard work and preparation by our students and their instructors. At Touch of Class we pride ourselves in presenting the most professional show possible. Participation in the recital is not mandatory, but all deadlines must be met in order to be included in the performance. If a student is not planning on participating in the recital, written notice must be given to Touch of Class no later than November 6, 2009. There will be no refunds for costume deposits.
PLACE: University of Pennsylvania, Annenberg Center
Zellerbach Theater
3680 Walnut Street
Philadelphia, PA 19104
RECITAL DATES:
Friday, June 4th – 7:30 PM (Folsom and Broomall Show)
Saturday, June 5th – 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM (Downingtown)
Saturday, June 5th – 7:00 PM (Broomall Show)
Sunday, June 6th – 1:00 and 5:00 PM (Broomall Shows)
Creative Movement, Prep Ballet/Tap, beginner and younger students will perform at only one of these shows and most other students will perform in both shows. A schedule of the days/times that each class will perform will be posted in the lobby and online by November 16th. Please check this schedule carefully to insure that siblings are in the same performance. All efforts have been made to make scheduling consistent within families, that is having sisters and brothers perform in the same show. But as you can imagine, this is an extremely difficult and involved task. If you find any conflicts in the schedule with your family, please let us know immediately so we can assist you in finding an alternate class, if possible, so that siblings may perform in the same show.
NO CLASS CHANGES WILL BE MADE AFTER January 15, 2010.
MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL: Tuesday, June 1st – Thursday, June 3rd 2010
Most students will only need to attend one day. The dress rehearsal schedule will be posted in the lobby by March 15th.
Attendance at dress rehearsal is mandatory as it is important for the students to experience the stage before the actual recital. Dress rehearsal will be held at the Annenberg Center. Each class will be assigned a particular time to appear for rehearsal and this schedule will be available in March. Students should be at the theater ½ hour before their specified rehearsal time. Creative Movement, Prep Ballet/Tap, and Beginner Students rehearse first and older students are scheduled for later in the afternoon/evening. Students rehearse in full costume. We ask that you become familiar with the layout of the theater, halls, and dressing rooms at dress rehearsal in order to avoid confusion on the actual night of the recital
FOR SECURITY PURPOSES, NO PARENTS OR UNCREDENTIALED PERSONS ARE ALLOWED ON THE STAGE LEVEL OR IN THE DRESSING ROOMS.
Photographs, movies and video taping are permitted and encouraged during dress rehearsal but are PROHIBITED DURING THE ACTUAL PERFORMANCES. This rule will be strictly enforced, so please make arrangements to take all your pictures at dress rehearsal.
DRESS REHEARSAL IS OPEN TO PARENTS AND PERFORMERS ONLY. NO OTHER CHILDREN OR RELATIVES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE AUDITORIUM. THIS RULE INSURES A QUICK, SMOOTH REHEARSAL WITHOUT EXTRA DISTRACTIONS, AND WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. WRIST BANDS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO STUDENTS AND PARENTS TO IDENTIFY THEM AS SUCH FOR THE REHEARSAL. No babies or strollers are allowed in the auditorium at any time.
